Deputies arrest a man in connection with mail theft. Investigators believe there are additional victims

INCIDENT: Suspect Wanted in Mail Theft Investigation Arrested
LOCATION: Throughout cities of Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana
SUSPECT: Guillermo Garcia, 36, Resident of Fontana
SUMMARY:
On April 25, 2016, witnesses identified a Honda Civic as being involved in a mail theft in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Within minutes, deputies located the vehicle and identified Guillermo Garcia as the driver. The vehicle was discovered to have been reported stolen out of the City of Walnut, California. When deputies attempted to arrest Garcia, he fled and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit was subsequently terminated due to safety concerns. On May 20, 2016, Rancho Cucamonga Station’s Multi-Enforcement Team (MET) located Garcia driving a vehicle in Fontana. A traffic stop was conducted and he was taken into custody without incident. Garcia was found in possession of methamphetamine and stolen property taken during a parcel theft committed in Rancho Cucamonga. Garcia was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with a bail set at $50,000.
Investigators believe Garcia is responsible for additional mail and parcel thefts throughout the Inland Empire. If anyone recognizes Garcia as being involved in additional thefts, please contact the Rancho Cucamonga Station.
