APD investigating afternoon shooting on SE 14th Avenue, no arrests, victim's injuries not life threatening.

On 5-19-16, at 4:51 PM, officers responded to a shooting call at 1400 S. Ross. The victim told officers that he had driven to 1400 S. Ross after being shot while in his car near 14th and S. Williams.  The victim, a HM 35, was on 14th, passing Williams, when he and his passenger saw another vehicle on 14th.  The driver thought the people in the other car could be someone he knew.  When he went back toward the intersection, he saw that the other vehicle had made a U-turn.  He saw a passenger in that vehicle produce a weapon and start shooting at him and his passenger.  One shot hit the victim's car windshield. The bullet or a fragment went into the car and hit the driver/victim in the ear before lodging behind his ear.  The suspect vehicle fled the area and no arrests have been made.  The only information on the suspect vehicle is that it was a tan or gold car with possibly three Hispanic male occupants.  The victim was transported to the hospital and was treated for the non-life threatening injury.  There have been no arrests.
