Burglary Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gaylesville man has been arrested in connection to a recent burglary, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Jesse Travis Giddens, 18, of Gaylesville, is charged with one count of third degree burglary, one count of third degree theft of property and one count of second degree theft of property, all are felonies,” investigator Jeremy Lasseter said.

Giddens can be seen on a surveillance camera jumping a fence onto the property of B and M Metals, located on Highway 278 East in Ball Play, and prying open the office doors. He then proceeded to steal $795 cash and a .22 caliber revolver.

Giddens was a former employee of the business for a short period of time in February 2016. The handgun and $86 were recovered. He told investigators the remaining cash was spent to purchase drugs.

Giddens was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and is being held on $7,500 bond.
