Maryland Capitol Police Participate in Active Shooter Drill at St John's College.
Members of the Maryland Capitol Police, Annapolis Detachment participated in an Active Shooter Drill at Saint John's College, Annapolis, Maryland yesterday, May 18, 2016. The exercise was a combined effort involving multiple police, fire and EMS agencies, and the college to better prepare emergency respondents on how to deal with and neutralize and manage an active threat to public safety. The drill took months to plan and coordinate and included participation from the Maryland Capitol Police, St John's College, Annapolis Police, Maryland State Police, Annapolis Fire and Rescue, and Annapolis Office of Emergency Management, among others.
The exercise was a invaluable tool that provided a level of realism necessary to test the training and skills of all the responding agencies.
