Aggravated Battery Investigation Underway in Brazil
Clay County—A joint investigation into what appears to be an early morning battery is underway by the Indiana State Police, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and Brazil City Police Department.
At approximately 9:10 this morning, Clay County 911 Dispatch received a call from an unknown person indicating a possible body was located in a detached garage at 990 North Depot Street. Brazil City police officers arrived and located a male lying on the garage floor suffering from trauma. The victim was transported by CARE ambulance to St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil with what appears to be life-threatening head and internal injuries.
Victim: William Miller, age 78, of Brazil, IN.
A person of interest has been detained at this time and there is no threat to public safety.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available.
