The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
May 17th.
0628 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 35700 block of Dalewood Drive. Officer Heckman arrested a 38 year old female (transient) for a restraining order violation. She was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
1058 Hours: Officers responded to the Latter-day Saints Church on Haley Street for a garbage truck fire to provide traffic control.
1225 Hours: Officers responded to the Check Center on Thornton Avenue and arrested a 21 year old male from Sacramento for burglary and check fraud. The suspect was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
0236 Hours: During a pedestrian stop on Thornton Avenue, Officer Norvell arrested a 35 year old Transient for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
0540 Hours: Officers responded to the Subway sandwich shop on Stevenson Boulevard to investigate a window smash burglary. The loss is unknown at this time.
