Petty Theft - 22800 block of  14th Street

Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s red/white bicycle from the backyard of his residence. The bike was unsecured.

Residential Burglary - 24900 block of  Chestnut Street

Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s locked residence, nothing appeared to have been stolen.

**Weekly Crime Tip-  Protecting against Bike Theft**

The majority of bicycle thefts occur because bicycles are often left unsecured or unattended. They're often stolen from places that are assumed to be a safe when in reality they are not, like balconies and secured parking garages. It is important to record your bicycle’s serial number and take a photo of your bicycle. This will aid in the recovery if your bicycle is stolen. To avoid being a victim of bicycle theft, always lock your bicycle when keeping it in a garage or on a porch.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Deputy Betsy Shackelford
