School Laptop Thefts - Lemon Grove

Investigators from the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Substation want the public's help in identifying and locating those responsible for stealing 43 laptops from an elementary school.

Between April 27th and 28th, someone gained entry into a storage shed on the campus of San Miguel Elementary School located in the 7000 block of San Miguel Avenue. The suspect stole 43 black DELL Chromebook laptops worth nearly $12,000.

The laptops will only work when they are connected to the Wi-Fi service of San Miguel Elementary School. When the laptops are turned on, the screens display: “Property of the Lemon Grove School District."

There was no video surveillance around the area of the storage shed.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect/s is asked to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
