SUMMARY: In support of Child Abuse Awareness month (April) and Internet Safety Month (June) the United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) requested all 61 of the Nation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces to participate in the third annual nationwide Operation Broken Heart. Participants in Operation Broken Heart III conducted proactive child sexual exploitation (CSE) investigations/operations to target child predators using the internet as a means to sexually exploit children.

On Saturday, May 14, 2016, six (6) teams, comprised of deputies and detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Rancho Cucamonga Station, Hesperia Station, Multiple Enforcement Team (MET), Court Services, Project HOPE and Specialized Investigations conducted a quarterly PC 290 Sex Registrant Compliance and Warrant Service Operation within the City of Rancho Cucamonga in participation of Operation Broken Heart III.
