Officer Randy Wheeler received information that there would be an after prom party in Trinity somewhere tonight (May 14, 2016). The person who reported it to him did not know the location of the party. The person whom reported this was concerned for the safety of the children.
Chief Jones received information that the after prom party is going to be in the area of Rockdale and Dryden Streets. Threats have been made that if certain people show up that people at the party will "shoot them up."
This is the kind of situation were violence erupts and someone gets hurt or killed. This is our attempt to protect your children and provide information to you. Whether or not you allow you child to attend is your responsibility.
We will have extra officers patrolling and searching for any criminal violations such as DWI, public intoxication, or minor in possession. The legal age for arrest is 17+ years old. Please don't allow you child to turn a wonderful night into a mistake in judgement that will haunt them the rest of their lives.
