Have a Brat with a Cop this weekend!!
The Sheboygan Police Department will begin a new program this year aimed at strengthening relationships in our neighborhoods. Brat with a Cop is a program built around the philosophy that we can bring police and citizens together in non-crisis situations to have frank and meaningful discussions to address community problems. Much like Coffee with a Cop, Brat with a Cop is designed to bring police and citizens together to ask questions and discuss issues. Sheboygan Police Officers, with grills and brats in tow, will be seeking opportunities to bring police and community member together to create opportunities to exchange information, ask questions or to purposefully discuss issues in Sheboygan neighborhoods.
Brat with a Cop is unique to Sheboygan. The program capitalizes on Sheboygan's reputation as the "Brat Capitol of the World" and the Sheboygan brat-fry to bring a local flavor to this type of police-community exchange.
Over the next three months, officers will be out pulling a trailer equipped with grills, bratwurst and fixings. They are prepared to set up and host impromptu brat-frys in areas where we can bring neighbors together. Our goal is to create a friendly, open opportunity to draw people together to share information or just build better relationships with the Police and each other.
If you see the Brat Cops in your neighborhood, feel free to stop and have a brat on us!!
A special thank you goes out to the suppliers in the Sheboygan area whose generous donations make this program possible:
Miesfled's Triangle Market, Sheboygan Piggly-Wiggly, Sheboygan Pick -n- Save and Sheboygan Festival Foods.
