Officers of the Jackson Police Department are investigating an attempted suicide. Officers were attempting to conduct a welfare check on a subject, from a Gibson County BOLO, when a shot was fired. The subject, from the BOLO, sustained serious injury from a self-inflicted gun shot and has been transported to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
