Crash on Ashland Ave in Green Bay

On Thursday, May 12th at approximately 1:20 A.M a Green Bay Police Officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed Northbound on Ashland Ave from Clinton St. The officer pulled out to catch up to the vehicle to do a traffic stop. The vehicle crashed into another car, lost control, continued northbound and stuck the front porch at 343 N Ashland Ave. The driver fled on foot. GBPD K9 attempted a track, but was not able to locate the driver. The driver of the hit vehicle was transported via rescue to the hospital with minor injuries. It was determined that the suspect vehicle was one that Ashwaubenon Public Safety was pursuing just prior to GBPD observing the vehicle. They called off their pursuit at Ashland Ave and Mason St. At no time was GBPD involved an active pursuit with the suspect vehicle. GBPD believes they know who the driver of the vehicle is. When located the male will be charged with unreasonable and imprudent speed, hit and run causing injury, failure to stop at a controlled intersection as well as any charges Ashwaubenon Public Safety will have as well. When the driver is located GBPD will put out a nixle with further information.
