Nicholas Cheary, 26 year old male of Turlock has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana and cocaine with the intent for sales and possession of a firearm while being in possession of narcotics. On Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at approximately 3:30 A.M., Turlock Police Department responded to the 1700 block of N. Tully Road on a report of the sound of gunshots. When officers arrived they located a male who had a gunshot wound to his right arm. The victim provided police with a suspect vehicle description and officers began checking the surrounding area. Officers located a vehicle matching the description which was being driven by Cheary. Through the course of the initial investigation, Cheary was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A search warrant was written for Cheary’s vehicle and residence. During the service of that search warrant, Turlock Police Department seized over $16,000.00 in cash, 200 grams of cocaine, 30 marijuana plants, 4-5 pounds of dried marijuana and one firearm. After locating these items, Cheary was re-booked on the additional charges.
