The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

May 4th.

0838 Hours: Officer Horst performed a traffic stop on a vehicle with an excessively loud stereo system. The 21 year old male driver from Newark was arrested for driving without a license and not having any verifiable identification. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1313 Hours: NPD Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 6200 block of Mayhews Landing Rd, for a verbal disturbance. Officers arrived at the location and learned a 44 year old male of Newark was harassing his mother. Officer Arroyo arrested the son for violating a restraining/harassment order (166(a)(4) PC).

1342 Hours: Officer Fredstrom was dispatched to the area of 39901 Balentine Drive for a disturbance. Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 37 year old female from San Jose on an outstanding warrant. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

2226 Hours: Officer Norvell arrested a 37 year old Newark male for public intoxication.
The suspect was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.

0009 Hours: During a follow-up investigation on Humber Place, Officer Slater arrested a 41 year old Newark female for a misdemeanor traffic warrant. The suspect was booked at the Santa Rita Jail.
