Vehicle Burglary Suspect Arrested

On 5-3-16 at 345 hours, PSPD received a 911 call about a vehicle burglary that had just occurred in the 900 block of Twin Palms and that a suspect vehicle described as a red truck was leaving the area.

Officers arrived within minutes and located a vehicle matching the description in the area of S Palm Canyon Drive and E Palm Canyon Drive.

The driver identified as Baldemar Rodriguez 1/13/1975 from Cathedral City gave officers consent to search the vehicle. Officers located property inside the vehicle that was identified as belonging to the victim of the vehicle burglary along with other property believed to have been stolen from other locations throughout the city.

Rodriguez has been identified as a suspect in numerous other thefts throughout the City of Palm Springs by PSPD Burglary Investigators and the PSPD Crime Lab. PSPD Burglary Investigators are working to clear up those cases and charge Rodriguez with additional crimes.

Rodriguez was booked on the following charges:

487 PC - Grand Theft

496 PC - Possession of Stolen Property

11364 HS - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Rodriguez was booked into the Riverside County Jail.
