Incident Summary:
On May 2, 2016, at approximately 12:50 PM, Petaluma Police Department responded to Check Into Cash at 201 S. McDowell Blvd. for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. A store employee reported a suspect entered the business, brandished a knife, and demanded money. The suspect was described as an unknown race male adult approximately 20 to 30 years of age. The suspect was described as wearing a tan sweatshirt, shorts, and had a bandanna concealing their face. The suspect fled the store on foot. It is unknown if the suspect was associated with any vehicles.
Numerous Petaluma Police Officers checked the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful.
A nearby elementary school was notified of this incident and briefly locked down.
