Burglary Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) A Hokes Bluff man has been arrested in connection to a recent burglary, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Kenneth Grover Sprayberry, 33, of Hokes Bluff, is charged with one count of one count of third degree burglary and unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle, both are felonies,” investigator Jeremy Lasseter said. “He is also charged with one count of fourth degree theft of property and cruelty to animals, both misdemeanors.”

Sprayberry allegedly broke into a residence, Friday evening, on Haney Road in the Ball Play community. He was found on the front porch of the house when the owners returned home to their property.

Sprayberry had broken into the residence; vandalizing, eating food and drinking juice from the refrigerator and killed the home owner’s cat by knocking over a large piece of furniture. While outside, Sprayberry attempted to break into the victim’s truck but, was unsuccessful in doing so.

Sprayberry was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and is being held on $8,000 bond.
