A 5-month operation conducted by the Santa Barbara Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office has resulted in the arrest of 20 individuals and the citing of 1 on a variety of charges and the seizure of illegal drugs and firearms. Additional arrests may be forthcoming.

Beginning in late 2015, the Santa Barbara Police Department’s Narcotics Unit conducted operations with undercover BATFE agents and informants for the purpose of making controlled purchases of illegal drugs and firearms. SBPD detectives often collaborate with our federal partners to address law enforcement issues of mutual concern. During the course of this operation, from November 2015 through April 2016, SBPD detectives facilitated contacts at various locations throughout the City of Santa Barbara between suspects and undercover personnel who carried out the illicit transactions. 10 firearms, 3.5 ounces of methamphetamine, 2 ounces of cocaine, and ¼ ounce of heroin were seized. The following 20 suspects were arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for the listed offenses:
