Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying one or more persons involved in recent reports of criminal property damage at the Pāhoa Post Office.

Between April 26 and April 27, locking mechanisms were pried open on three post office boxes, causing damage. The monetary value of the damage is still pending.

Between April 27 and April 28, locking mechanisms were pried open on two post office boxes, causing $100 in damage.

Police ask anyone with any information about these incidents to call Officer Roberto Segobia at 965-2716 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

The public is also encouraged to call the police to report any suspicious activity at a Post Office.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers doesn’t record calls or subscribe to caller ID. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
