Deputies arrest a suspect in Loma Linda for possession of heroin and methamphetamine for sales

LOCATION: Redlands Blvd/ Poplar Street, Loma Linda
SUSPECT(S): Peter Mendez, 45 year old resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY:
On April 27, 2016, Deputy A. Lopez from the Central Station made contact with the suspect, Peter Mendez, in the area of Redlands Blvd and Poplar Street in Loma Linda. Deputy Lopez recognized Mendez from previous law enforcement contacts. Sheriff’s Dispatch verified Mendez had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Deputy Lopez placed Mendez under arrest for the outstanding warrant. During a pat down search of Mendez, he was found to be in possession of several large baggies containing suspected heroin, packaged for sales. Mendez also had an approximate “8 ball” of suspected methamphetamine and a quantity of marijuana. When the larger baggies of heroin were opened, a total of 114 individually packaged baggies of suspected heroin were located. Mendez was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center.
