APD PACE Unit serves search warrant and arrest two in West Amarillo

On April 21st at 1:12 PM, officers from the APD Proactive Criminal Enforcement Unit (PACE) were about to serve a search warrant at 802 Sunset Terrace. Before they could enter the home, they saw a vehicle that they knew was connected to a resident at the home approaching the home.  They stopped the vehicle for traffic violations.  The driver was Faydesta Darius Morris II BM 22.  Officers arrested him for Fail to Display a Front License Plate and for No Driver’s License. The passenger initially gave officers a false name, but he was found to be George Herbert Barrigher BM 46.  Barrigher had 6 local municipal warrants.  Officers found a marijuana cigar under Barrigher’s feet in the car.  Barrigher was placed under arrest for Fail to Identify/Fugitive from Justice, Possession of Marijuana Under 2 Ounces, and the 6 municipal warrants.  Officers then served the search warrant at the home on Sunset Terrace.  The search produced several pieces of drug paraphernalia, a small quantity of marijuana and cocaine, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) wax, a handgun, and a shotgun.  Morris was booked into the Randall County Jail for the traffic offenses and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Barrigher was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on his charges. Officers are still conducting an investigation to determine who is linked to the contraband found in the home, and neither person arrested has been charged with any offense relating to that evidence.
