Family of Fatal Hit and Run Victim Offer Reward
The family of fatal hit and run victim 40-year-old Bilal M. Ali of Murphysboro, Illinois have offered a reward of $10,000 dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Mr. Ali.
On Saturday April 23, 2016, Bilal Ali parked his tractor-trailer on the shoulder of Interstate 70 near the 13 mile marker in Vigo County and was standing along the driver’s side of his unit, possible checking a flat tire. Another westbound vehicle then struck and killed Ali and continued westbound on I-70.
Investigators believe the suspect vehicle was another tractor-trailer unit. Evidence at the scene suggests the tractor was white and should have noticeable damage to the right front headlight and passenger side mirror areas.
Indiana State Police continue to investigate this tragic death. Anyone with information in this case should contact investigating officer Master Trooper Matt Ames at the Putnamville Post at 765-653-4114.
On the morning of the crash, Indiana State Police immediately shared the information with Illinois authorities and Vigo County Sheriff’s deputies and Terre Haute City police officers checked areas around the Terre Haute exits the suspect vehicle may be, to avail.
Media and other law enforcement agencies are urged to share this information in hopes this death can be solved.
