Sheriff Victor Hill's Specialized Crime Suppression Unit Stops Burglary And Apprehends Suspects!

When a concerned citizen saw two suspects with firearms in a wood-line on Mystic Lane, she immediately dialed 911. Sheriff Victor Hill's specialized Crime Suppression Unit known as CSU was nearby on a drug suppression mission, and responded to the scene.

The first suspect Michael Dionus Lewis Jr. was apprehended, in the wood line, and caught with a stolen firearm in his possession. A search of his person revealed several rocks which were similar to those used in prior burglaries in this area.

The second suspect Stephon Lamontaye Warren fled the scene and went to hide at Lewis's house. This proved to be a big mistake. When Lewis's mother came home and found Warren hiding in her house, she did the right thing and dialed 911 as well. Warren who also has been confirmed to have been tied to another burglary off of Stratford Circle was then taken into custody without incident. He was still in possession of a phone taken in that burglary.

The Crime Suppression Unit is a specialized team that literally suppresses crime by occupying areas making it impossible for drug dealers and other criminals to operate. There is no other unit like it in the state, and they are a critical tool in the arsenal that Sheriff Victor Hill uses to combat crime. Their work is a major contribution to why Clayton County now has the lowest crime rate in the 5 metro county area.

We must also say that both citizens who dialed 911 in this incident are to be commended. One for being alert, and the other for doing the right thing even though her own son was involved. Remember, you can never dial 911 too much. When in doubt call. It is always better for law-enforcement to respond and find out everything is okay, then for us not to be called in case it is not.
