Simulated Car Accident at Summit High School

This afternoon, the Summit High School and Summit Police Department are conducting a program called "One Moment, Three Decisions" (OM3D) at SHS. This event involves a simulated motor vehicle accident involving students and will include responses from the Summit Police and Fire Departments, Summit First Aid Squad as well as a helicopter from Atlantic Health. There is not real emergency, as this is a controlled presentation.

Please note that Weaver Street will be closed to traffic between 12:30 pm and 2:45 pm and we ask that you not come to the high school to view the presentation as it will create traffic issues and possibly take away from the student's overall experience.

Again, there is no emergency at the Summit High School, it is a simulated motor vehicle accident that is part of the OM3D Program (a program about the consequences of driving while distracted, drunk driving, and/or using illegal substances).

Thank you in advance for your cooperation as the Summit Police Department and Summit Board of Education continue to work collectively to educate our students on the consequences of driving while distracted, be it using their cell phone and/or while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
