APD investigating Sunday afternoon drive by shooting in N. Amarillo, one hospitalized, no arrests.

On 4-24-16, at 11:37 AM, officers were sent to the 1400 block of N. Highland on a disorderly conduct call. Responding officers found that the call was actually a drive-by shooting. The victim, a HM 20 that lives in that block, told officers that he was walking across the street when the shooting happened. A green Dodge Challenger approached from the north. The driver, a black male, slowed and fired shots from a handgun at the victim. One shot hit the victim in the upper arm, penetrated it, and struck him in the side of the upper body. One shot hit a home at 1410 N. Highland. The suspect drove away. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening. Officers recovered two spent 9mm caliber cartridge casings from the street at the scene. Officers believe this shooting was linked to a previous dispute involving the suspect and victim. There have been no arrests.
