APD officers arrest two and recover stolen property, identification, and vehicle in South Amarillo

On April 23rd at 3:13 Pm an APD officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of S Parker on two burglaries. The officer tracked the stolen items down to a house in the 4200 block of S Travis. Stacy Lynn Lanier WM 27 was in the home on S Travis and was detained. Officers investigated further and found items belonging to the original victims from the burglaries on Parker as well as several identifiers belonging to other people. Lanier was placed under arrest for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information and put into the back seat of a patrol car. The officer went back to the house to investigate the stolen property. Jennifer Kay East WF 34 went to the patrol car and opened the door to let Lanier out. East and Lanier ran on foot, but were caught in the 4300 block of S Travis. East was placed under arrest for hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon. Lanier was charged with escape while arrested/confined for a felony, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, and a warrant for possession of a controlled substance pg1 greater than or equal to 1 gram and less than 4 grams. Both were booked into the Randall County Jail. Officers also located a Pontiac G6 that had been reported stolen on March 20th. The license plate on the vehicle was found to be stolen on April 12th. The stolen vehicle and the burglaries are still under investigation.
