Deputies arrest an armed and dangerous Parolee at Large for Felony Evading

LOCATION: Nolan Street and State Street, San Bernardino
SUSPECT: Benny Ramirez, 34, San Bernardino Resident
SUMMARY:
On April 23, 2016 at 11:54 p.m. Deputy L. Sandoval, from the Sheriff's Central Station, conducted a traffic stop on a silver Honda Accord for vehicle code violations. The vehicle fled from Sandoval at a high rate of speed. Sandoval activated his overhead lights and siren, but the vehicle continued to evade at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ultimately drove into a dirt field and the driver fled from deputies on foot. Deputies received information that the suspect was hiding in a nearby residence and Sandoval and assisting deputies made contact at a home in the 3900 block of Duffy Street. Sandoval looked through the front living room window and saw the suspect who fled from him. The suspect resisted arrested but was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was identified as Benny Ramirez and was wanted by the California Department of Parole and was considered armed and dangerous. Ramirez was arrested for VC 2800.2 Felony Evading and PC 3056 Parole Violation. He was booked into West Valley Detention Center.
