Howard High School of Technology Investigation UPDATE#2: Victim Identification

UPDATE#2: Victim Identification

The 16 year old victim from yesterday's assault investigation at Howard High School of Technology is identified as Amy Joyner-Francis. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident remain active and ongoing. The Wilmington Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division Homicide and Violent Crime Division continues to work in cooperation with the State of Delaware Attorney General's Office and the State of Delaware Division of Forensic Science. As the investigation continues to progress and more detailed information is able to be released we will provide that information as soon as possible.

UPDATE#1:

As confirmed at an earlier press conference, the juvenile female victim of an assault at Howard High School has died. The victim, identified as a 16 year old female succumbed to her injuries at the A.I DuPont Hospital this morning. Members of the Criminal Investigations Division Homicide and Violent Crime Unit continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. At this hour several interviews are still being conducted.  As the investigation progresses information will be released as available.

At this hour Wilmington Police remain on scene at Howard High School of Technology, 401 E. 12th Street actively investigating a serious assault investigation involving a 15 year old female victim. Information is limited at this time and updates will be provided as soon as available.  (*original time of call 0818 hours).
