“Police Blotter” Highlights – Ending April 17th, 2016

HOME INVASION ROBBERY
On Tuesday, April 12th, around 11:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 32600 block of Kenita Way on the report of a home invasion robbery. The victims said that three to four black male suspects demanded cash, rummaged through several drawers and closets, and left with jewelry and a victim’s cell phone (which was later found nearby). Please see the adjacent sketch of one of the suspects.

WEEK IN REVIEW

Robberies:
On Wednesday, April 13th, around 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 11th St. and H St. on reports of a robbery that had just occurred. The victim was walking to the BART station when an unknown subject pushed her and snatched the cell phone out of her hands. She described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old, 5’7” to 5’11” and 180 lbs. Officers flooded the area, but the suspect was not located.

On Wednesday, April 13th, around 7 p.m., officers responded to the 32200 block of Alvarado Blvd. on the report of a battery, which actually turned out to be a robbery. During a road rage incident, one suspect struck two victims and threw one of the victim’s phones into the street. The suspect was described as a black female in her 30s, with a thin build. The suspect vehicle was a white Jeep with paper dealer plates.

Vehicle Theft Arrest:
On Sunday, April 17th, around 9:15 p.m., Ofc. Jensen was patrolling the area of 12th St. and J St. when he located a vehicle reported stolen out of Hayward. A subject was sleeping in the driver’s seat and admitted to driving the vehicle. Nicolas Gonzalez, an 18-year-old Hayward resident, was arrested for vehicle theft.

BURGLARIES AND CAR THEFTS

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, April 11th through Sunday, April 17th, there were two reported residential burglaries and one attempt:
• 33600 block of 15th St.: Occurred between Monday, April 11th at 8 a.m., and Thursday, April 14th at 12:30 p.m. Unknown method of entry; the loss included furniture.
• 4700 block of Palos Way: Occurred between Thursday, April 14th at 8 p.m., and Friday, April 15th at 11:20 a.m. The loss included electronics, tools and designer shoes.
• 2700 block of Killdeer Ct. (attempt only): Occurred on Monday, April 11th, between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Someone removed several window screens, but no entry was made.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, April 11th through Sunday, April 17th, there were three reported commercial burglaries and one attempt:
• 34000 block of 7th St.: Occurred between Friday, April 8th at 5 p.m., and Monday, April 11th at 3 p.m. A dock door was pried open; the loss is unknown at this time.
• 2900 block of Whipple Rd.: Occurred between Tuesday, April 12th at 9:20 p.m., and Wednesday, April 13th at 1:30 a.m. The rear roll-up door was smashed off its hinges; the loss included some tires.
• 3900 block of Smith St.: Occurred on Wednesday, April 13th, around 5 a.m. A window on the front door was smashed; the loss included cash from the register.
• 2900 block of Whipple Rd. (attempt only): Occurred between Tuesday, April 12th at 6 p.m., and Wednesday, April 13th at 1:20 a.m. In the same incident as the above burglary, the rear roll-up doors were smashed in, but no entry was made.

AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS
From Monday, April 11th through Sunday, April 17th, there were three reported auto burglaries. They all occurred in the Union Landing shopping center on Tuesday or Wednesday. The burglary on Tuesday did not have any loss, but the burglaries on Wednesday targeted electronics and other items that were left in plain view on the seats or floorboards.

From Monday, April 11th through Sunday, April 17th, there were five reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, two of the vehicles have been recovered. One of them was recovered shortly after it was stolen, and Chung Lee, a 38-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested for vehicle theft.
