Weekend & Weeknight Pavement Patching on I-70
Contractors for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) plan to close one lane of eastbound Interstate 70 this weekend for concrete pavement patching in Wayne County.
Beginning Friday, April 22 at 9 p.m., crews plan to close the right lane of eastbound I-70 between State Road 1 Exit 137 and Centerville Road Exit 145. The lane will remain closed through the weekend until Monday, April 25 at 6 a.m.
Milestone Contractors is continuing a $9.5 million construction project started last year, which will make pavement repairs, install subgrade drainage and resurface the 8-mile stretch of interstate before the end of this summer.
Milestone also plans to begin work as early as next week on a separate $6.7 million project to make repairs and pave a new asphalt surface on I-70 between US 27/Chester Boulevard (Exit 151) and the Ohio state line.
Crews plan to begin overnight asphalt patching on or after Tuesday, April 26. The work will require various weeknight lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-70 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Weekend lane closures for concrete patching on this section of I-70 are scheduled to begin in May.
