The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
April 19th.
0547 Hours: Officers responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and an automobile on Thornton Avenue at Hickory Street. The motorcycle rider was transported to a local trauma center with serious injuries. Officer Johnson is investigating the accident.
1200 Hours: Officer Ackerman responded to Public Storage at 38290 Cedar Blvd on a report of storage units being burglarized overnight. The investigation is ongoing.
1505 Hours: Officers responded to an accident involving a bicyclist and an automobile on Cedar Boulevard, south of Mowry Avenue. The bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. Officer Sandoval is investigating.
1739 Hours: Officer Posadas responded to the 39800 block of Balentine Dr. on a report of a stolen electric moped.
1905 Hours: A resident on Jonathan Drive called to report that a suspicious male subject was loitering in their front yard. Officer Jackman responded and arrested a 23 year old Newark male for public intoxication. The suspect was booked at the Fremont Jail.
