19 yr old assaulted and robbed of IPhone after placing ad on an internet site.16 year old in custody;two outstanding

DATE/TIME: April 10, 2016 6:03 PM

INCIDENT: Robbery / Assault

LOCATION: Glasgow & Pacific Avenue, San Bernardino

VICTIM: 19 year old male, resident of Colton

SUSPECT: 16 year old male, resident of San Bernardino

SUMMARY: On Sunday, April 10, 2016, the victim responded to a potential buyer on the Offer Up application on the internet. The victim was attempting to sell an I-phone 6 on the ad and agreed to meet the suspect at a residence located on the 6900 block of Glasgow Avenue in the City of San Bernardino to complete the sales transaction.

At approximately 6:03 PM, the victim arrived at the designated location and was met by three black males. The three suspects assaulted the victim by punching him in the face and knocking him to the floor. The three suspects took the victims I-phone 6 and fled on foot into an apartment complex in the area.

Deputy B. Ortiz responded to the incident location and began the robbery / assault investigation. Through the course of his investigation, Ortiz was able to identify the primary suspect later identified as a 16 year old male juvenile responsible for luring the victim and orchestrating the crime.

On Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the primary male juvenile was located at a residence on the 7000 block of Glasgow Avenue in the City of San Bernardino. He was discovered to have an active NO BAIL Warrant for a Burglary and a Warrant for the Robbery related to the described incident. He was booked at the San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall without incident. The other two suspects are still outstanding.
