LOCATION: 2500 block of East 24th Street, National City

SUMMARY of INCIDENT:
On April 17, 2016, at about 0750 hours, NCPD dispatch received a call of subjects fighting in the area of the 2400-2500 block of East 24th Street in National City. Officers arrived and found a Hispanic male adult victim being tended to by neighbors from the area in a vacant lot on the east side of the 2500 block of East 24th Street. The victim suffered from several stab wounds to his torso. The victim was transported by paramedics to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he underwent immediate trauma surgery. The victim succumbed to his wounds and died at the hospital.

Witnesses in the area described two Hispanic males attacking the victim in the vacant lot before the police were called. There is no good description of the two Hispanic males at this time. The two Hispanic males were last seen fleeing east on East 24th Street on foot.

The victim was identified as identified as Jose Estrada (age 33). The suspect(s) are unknown at this time. The only suspect(s) description are two Hispanic male adults.

This investigation is ongoing as of 5:00pm on April 17, 2016.
