Attempting to Elude Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man has been arrested in connection to a recent vehicle pursuit, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Dametrius Deandre David Swain, 26, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of second degree unlawful possession of marijuana and attempting to elude,” Deputy Dakota Hammett said. He also has several traffic violations.
Deputy Hammett attempted to make a traffic stop on a blue 2012 Ford Mustang, driven by Swain, when the suspect fled. A short vehicle pursuit ensued that began on US Highway 431 and ended on foot in Boaz.
Swain is listed as a deserter from the U.S. Military.
Swain was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,600. He has since been released.
The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, Boaz Police Department and Sardis Police Department assisted with the case.
