INCIDENT: Conspiracy/Retail Theft/Shoplifting

SUSPECT(S): Keshawn Michael Ramseur, age 21, Adelanto Resident
Jay Leslie Knowles, age 24, Victorville Resident

SUMMARY: Victorville detectives captured two men suspected of stealing beer from a local liquor store. Keshawn Ramseur and Jay Knowles, were arrested and booked on charges of conspiracy, retail theft, and shoplifting, as well as outstanding warrants. Both are being held at the High Desert Detention Center and are scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, April 18, 2016.

On April 14, 2016, detectives from the Victorville Police Station were enroute to conduct an investigation when Detective Maddox spotted a man carrying cases of beer from a nearby liquor store to a 1993 gold Toyota Camry, which was waiting on an adjacent street. The man got into the passenger side of the vehicle and the driver began to leave the location. Detective Maddox attempted to stop the vehicle, activating the lights and siren in his vehicle, and the driver failed to yield. Maddox, along with other detectives and deputies, followed the two suspects for a short time before the suspects finally stopped their vehicle on Nyack Road. The passenger, Knowles, was detained in the vehicle. The driver, Ramseur, exited the vehicle and began to run. After a foot pursuit thru the surrounding neighborhood Ramseur was spotted in the garage of a home. He was taken into custody without further incident.
