Jackson County-Over the past two days, troopers with the Indiana State Police, Versailles District, have conducted investigations along I-65 near Seymour which have led to numerous drug related arrests.

On Tuesday April 12th, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Trooper Randel Miller conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Lexus southbound on I-65 near the 51 mile marker.  During the stop, Trp. Miller became suspicious of criminal activity taking place.  Trp. Miller’s K-9 Jinx alerted to the odor of an illegal drug coming from the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle revealed heroin, controlled substances, syringes, and drug paraphernalia.

The three Crossville, Tennessee residents: Amy L. Boston, age 40, James L. Turner, age 32, and Dexter W. Parsons, age 30 were all arrested on numerous charges including dealing heroin, possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of a legend drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  They were all transported to the Jackson County Jail where they will soon all be given an initial court appearance in the Jackson County Circuit Court.

Trp. Miller was assisted by Captain Anthony Scott, Trooper Rick Hewitt, and Trooper Michael Thiron.

On Wednesday April 13th, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Sergeant Stephen Wheeles responded to a report of drug activity in a vehicle just off I-65 at State Road 11, just north of Seymour.  Troopers became suspicious of criminal activity taking place in the vehicle.  One of the occupants, Amber N. Miller, age 23, New Albany, Indiana was found to be wanted on a warrant out of Clark County, Indiana.  The second occupant, Kenneth W. Henson, age 23, New Albany, Indiana was found to be in possession of hypodermic syringes.  Both Miller and Henson were arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail.  Miller will soon be transported to the Clark County Jail while Henson will be given a court date to appear in the Jackson County Circuit Court to face a charge of possession of a hypodermic syringe, level 6 felony.

Sgt. Wheeles was assisted by Troopers Kevin Riordan and Seth Davidson.
