Survive and Thrive Run Walk Health & Safety Expo  

(Irvine, CA) – The public is invited to attend the Southern California Survive and Thrive Run Walk Health & Safety Expo at 7 a.m. – 12 noon on Saturday, April 16 at Mason Regional Park in Irvine.

Crime Survivors, Inc. (Crime Survivors) Southern California’s leading Crime Victim’s support and education organization, will be hosting its 12th Annual Run Walk - Health & Safety Expo.

Now in its twelfth year, this amazing community event began in 2004 when Patricia Wenskunas, a crime survivor, which founded Crime Survivors in 2003. Patricia set out to increase public awareness of victims’ rights and needs, while providing resources, support and information to empower crime victims to survive and thrive. The organization (www.crimesurvivors.org) is supported by scores of civic and law enforcement agencies, corporations, local businesses and individuals and has proactively partnered with many other nonprofit organizations. 

Crime Survivors is also in partnership with the County of Orange and OC Parks and excited to share that The Orange County Crime Victims Monument will be built at the same location as the Survive and Thrive 5k Run Walk Health and Safety Expo.

Hundreds of runners and walkers are expected from survivors and supportive citizens to members of law enforcement and other civic agencies and over one hundred event and vendor booth sponsors are expected to participate this year. This event promises to be a day of fun, entertainment, food and drinks, free pancake breakfast, learning and even healing for some. A survivor’s dove release will take place with victims, survivors and families.   Crime Survivors welcomes sponsors, vendors, volunteers, run/walkers and all are welcome to attend.

Registration at   www.surviveandthriverunwalk.org.  The pre-registration fee is $25.00 and will include the 5k Run / Walk, t-shirt, medal, goody bag, entertainment and the Health & Safety Expo. “Day of” registration will include the same items at $30.00.

Presenting Sponsor and Special Guest Chris Kelly and Event Emcee, Eileen Frere abc7, along with Sheriff Jim Mc Donnell, Under Sheriff Don Barnes, Supervisor Todd Spitzer, Chief Mike Hamel, Chief Carlos Rojas, Lieutenant Al Labrada and many other professional leaders will be present and speakers at this year’s event.  Event Registration begins at 7 am, special guest presentations begin at 8:30 am and the event will conclude at 12pm.
