Crews Paving I-70 Tomorrow Near Richmond
Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) maintenance crews plan to close the right lane of eastbound Interstate 70 tomorrow (Tuesday, April 12) to pave sections of pavement between U.S. 27 (Exit 151) and State Road 227 (Exit 153).
Motorists should consider alternate routes to avoid potential backups and delays.
The eastbound U.S. 40 closure for paving on South A Street in Richmond will not begin until Wednesday, April 13 because I-70 is the posted detour.
The paving on I-70 is intended as a temporary improvement to the aged pavement condition. A $6.7 million construction contract has been awarded to Milestone Contractors for full-depth patching and resurfacing of pavement on I-70 between U.S. 27 and Ohio. Construction is scheduled to begin in the upcoming weeks.
