Ongoing Death Investigation
Dearborn, MI. — On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, Dearborn Police responded to the area of Tireman and Wyoming in the city of Dearborn on a report of a male with a gunshot wound. The 18 year old male was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The police department has received numerous inquiries regarding the incident from the media, concerned citizens and others. Several social media and news outlets have reported conflicting and inaccurate information regarding the incident. These reports have caused considerable concern within our community. To date, and out of respect for the integrity of the investigation, we have not released any official details of the incident.
While the preliminary investigation does not suggest foul play, it is ongoing and pending autopsy results from the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated “this loss of life is tragic and on behalf of the Dearborn Police Department, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young man.”
