On March 24, 2016, deputies responded to Walnut High School in regard to a bomb threat.  The threat indicated a bomb was going to be detonated at Walnut High School and Mount San Antonio College.  An investigation was conducted at both locations but no explosive devices were located.

On April 6, 2016, Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station Detectives identified and arrested 18-year-old, Adrian Mendoza, resident of West Covina, for making the bomb threat.  Suspect Mendoza is currently enrolled as a student at both schools.   Mendoza was transported and booked at Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station on the charge of false report of a bomb or explosive device.  He was released on $20,000.00 bail.
