On April 7th, 2016 at approximately 4:40 AM, Absecon Police responded westbound on Absecon Boulevard and Turner Avenue for a single car motor vehicle accident. While en route police communications advised responding units the vehicle was overturned and in the roadway. Upon patrols arrival the driver later identified as, Bianca Pizarro-Chicas was still inside the vehicle with a traffic light standard down across the roadway. Officers with the assistance of the witness to the accident were able to remove Ms. Pizarro-Chicas from the vehicle. Absecon Emergency Medical Services and Absecon Fire Department were requested and responded a short time later. Ms. Pizarro-Chicas was evaluated by Absecon EMS and signed a refusal for medical treatment on scene.

During the investigation of the motor vehicle accident it was determined Ms. Pizarro-Chicas was impaired and was placed under arrest by Officer Winkel of the Absecon Police Department. As a result of the accident traffic was interrupted for approximately a little over an hour and had to be diverted off of Absecon Boulevard onto Turner Avenue.
