PRESS RELEASE: Residential Burglary Arrest

On April 5th, 2016 at approximately 1:30 PM, PSPD Burglary Detectives served a search warrant in the 12000 block of Inaja Rd. in Desert Hot Springs looking for stolen property related to at least one residential burglary that occurred in Palm Springs in March of this year.

PSPD Detectives recovered a large amount of property believed to have been stolen from the March burglary and possibly other burglaries over the past several months in Palm Springs. PSPD Detectives are still sorting through that property and trying to identify the exact locations the property was stolen from and attempting to contact additional victims.

PSPD Detectives identified Austin Oglesby born February 1986 as a named suspect from the March burglary with the help of the PSPD CSI Unit.

Oglesby was arrested in the 2800 block of Sandia Rd. in Palm Springs at a family members home by PSPD burglary Detectives at the same time the search warrant was being served at Oglesby's residence in Desert Hot Springs.

Oglesby is being held on $150,000.00 bail in the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for the following charges:

2 Counts of Residential Burglary - Felony

2 Counts of Possession of Stolen Property - Felony
