Deputies are searching for missing 2 month old child; Mother arrested for Child Endangerment

INCIDENT: CRITICAL MISSING INFANT, MOTHER ARRESTED FOR CHILD ENDANGERMENT

SUSPECT: TINA BAXTER, AGE 42, HIGH DESERT TRANSIENT
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, April 2, 2016 at approximately 7:26 p.m., Deputies of the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of a missing infant. The reporting party stated that Tina Baxter’s 2 month old infant was missing and could not be accounted for.
Through investigation, it was learned that the infant was seen at the Days and Nights Inn on Bear Valley Road earlier that day. However, Hesperia deputies and detectives have made contact with family, friends and acquaintances of Tina Baxter without any leads on the whereabouts of Ashlynn Thomas, the missing infant. Tina Baxter was arrested and booked at HDDC on charges of PC-273a(a)- child endangerment.
Hesperia Station is asking for the public’s help in locating Ashlynn Thomas. Ashlynn was last seen wearing a pink and white, one piece pajama sleeper, with a black jacket that has multi colored stars on it. Ashlynn has a dark hairy birthmark on her right forearm and a dark birthmark on the bottom of her left foot.
Sheriff’s personnel have been actively searching for Ashlynn throughout the night. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to call Sheriff’s Dispatch at 760-956-5001 or Detective Rios at 760-947-1526 or 760-559-7921.
