Accused: Ryan Marchese, Age 19 Middletown, NJ, Male Juvenile, Age 17 Belford, NJ, Male Juvenile, Age 16 Middletown, NJ

NARRATIVE:

On March 31, 2016 at approximately 2:02am, Ptl Christopher Mirrione was on routine patrol in the Borough of Deal. Ptl Mirrione was conducting a patrol check of the Roosevelt Ave pump station when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the road. Ptl Miirrione exited his police car to investigate when he observed a white male running away from him towards the beach. Sgt Brian Egan, Ptl Nick Vaccaro and Officer Jeffrey Kless then arrived on scene to assist in locating the subject. Sgt Brian Egan was able to locate 3 males hiding in the jetty rocks near the Poplar Ave outflow pipe.

A subsequent investigation conducted by Sgt Egan, Ptl Vaccaro, Ptl Mirrione, Officer Kless, Allenhurst Ptl Anthony Carafa and his K-9 partner Bia, revealed the occupants of the vehicle were in possession of a handgun (air soft pistol), possession of controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia. The accused parties were placed under arrest and transported to Deal Police Department Headquarters for processing.

Ryan Marchese was charged with possession of a weapon, possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession of controlled dangerous substances with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing. He was charged on a criminal complaint and released pending a court date. The two male juveniles were charged and released to a parent or guardian.
