March 28th

0857 Hours: Officer Johnson handled a false vehicle registration case at the Double Tree hotel. The vehicle was in a position that made it difficult to tow. Officer Johnson removed the plates and left the vehicle. At 1025 Hours, Officer Johnson spotted the vehicle parked in front of a business on the NewPark Mall Ring Rd. While starting the paperwork to tow the vehicle, a male approached him and asked what he was doing with his car. The 38 year old male from Stockton was found to be on active searchable probation. A search of the vehicle yielded indicia of identity theft. The suspect was detained and transported back to the Double Tree Hotel where he had a room rented under his name. A probation search of the room was conducted. The search yielded dozens of stolen credit cards, a card reader, stolen property, and washed checks. A 29 year old female from Stockton was contacted inside the room and detained. Both were arrested and later booked at Santa Rita Jail. This case involved over 10 victims of identity theft. Detectives advised they will be assisting with the case. The two suspects were booked on several different felony charges pertaining to credit card fraud.

1024 Hours: Officer Mapes arrested a 38 year old Newark female who was hiding on the 36500 block of Oak St. in Fremont Ca. The suspect had 6 active misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. The suspect was contacted at the residence and arrested. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.


1850 Hours: While off-duty, Officer Simon spots a known 38 year old male transient walking around the Lakeshore Park path and notifies Dispatch that he has a Misdemeanor warrant. The suspect sees marked units arriving in the area and attempts to ride away on his bicycle. He immediately jumps off his bike and lies flat on the ground when he saw Officer Jackman’s K-9 car coming. Officer Smith handled the arrest and booking of the suspect at Fremont PD Jail.

1919 Hours: Officer Norvell handled a Citizen’s Arrest/shoplifting case at the NewPark Mall. Two 23 year old female’s from Fremont were both cited and released at the scene for theft.

2216 Hours: A report of a suspicious subject at a convenience store on Thornton Ave. resulted in the arrest of a 38 year old transient male for public intoxication by Officer Jackman. The suspect was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

March 29th

0036 Hours: CHP Officers terminated a vehicle pursuit of a stolen vehicle that was last seen westbound Mowry Ave. Officer Norvell responds to the area and the abandoned vehicle is located at the extreme dead end of Mowry Ave. A K-9 track indicated the suspects fled on foot towards the wetlands into an area inaccessible due to cyclone fencing and barbed wire. CHP handled the recovery of the vehicle and no suspects were located.
