March 25th.
0911 Hours: Officer Warren contacted a 58 year old male from Newark on Dalewood Drive and arrested him for his Narcotic / Drug Paraphernalia Health and Safety warrant. During a subsequent probation search, drug paraphernalia was located in the suspect’s pocket. He was arrested and later released on a citation for possessing drug paraphernalia.

1220 Hours: Officer Jackman investigated an injury vehicle collision that occurred on Stevenson Boulevard near Balentine Drive. As a result of the impact, one party sustained injuries and needed to be extricated by Alameda County Fire Dept. with special apparatus.

1451 Hours: A 54 year old male from Newark was observed in front of a business in the 37000 block of Sycamore Street. The suspect was contacted and arrested for his three drug related warrants and was issued a new court date and released at the scene.

March 26th.

2021 Hours: Officer Arroyo accepted a shoplifter in custody for theft from JC Penney’s Loss Prevention staff. A 50 year old female from Fremont was cited and released for theft.

2354 Hours: Officers responded back out to the area of Mirabeau Park to contact a couple reported to be possibly engaged in a battery near a parked pickup truck with a trailer. The same couple was also contacted earlier in the day. The 46 year old male from Newark and the 28 year old female from Union City admitted to being in a verbal argument and agreed to separate for the evening. Less than 5 minutes later, the male was reported to be banging on the door of the trailer. Officer Khairy responded back to the area and located the male driving on Toulouse St..
He was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the Fremont Police Dept. Jail.

Officer Mapes was dispatched to a business located in the 37000 block of Hickory St. for a Domestic Violence Case. The victim called to report her husband had punched her in the face while the two were in a heated argument over the care and custody their children. The victim refused medical treatment, an Emergency Protection Order was granted and served to both parties. The 42 year old male was arrested and later booked at Santa Rita Jail.

March 27th.

0036 Hours: Officer Simon conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 24 year old male driver who admitted to drinking at a local bar. After failing a Field Sobriety Test, the suspect was arrested for driving under the Influence and transported to Washington Township Hospital for a blood sample and then to Fremont Police Dept. Jail for booking.

0043 Hours: A 31 year old Newark male was reported to be violating a restraining order in the 35800 block of Cherry Street where he was restrained from both the residence and the reporting party. The suspect was reported to have snuck into the garage but was not located when officers arrived on scene.


0113 Hours: Officer Khairy arrested a 39 year old male for driving under the influence. The suspect was stopped in front of McDonald’s north, but thought that he was at Story/King in San Jose. He was transported to Washington Township Hospital for a blood sample and Fremont Police Dept. Jail for booking.

1609 Hours: Fremont Police Dept. asked if we could make contact with a suspect wanted for a Hit and Run violation. The 46 year old Newark male was contacted at his residence located on the 5700 block of Dichondra Pl.. Fremont Police Dept. arrived and completed their investigation. Upon its completion, Officer Mapes along with K9 Officer Jackman and his partner Elliot conducted a probation search of the suspect’s room. K9 Elliot indicated there was some type of narcotics near or on a dresser. Officer Jackman located a piece of tin foil on the dresser with some white flaky powder. The suspect was later arrested for Narcotic’s Possession, and Probation Violation. He was booked at Fremont City jail.

1843 Hours: Officer Jackman investigated a domestic battery that occurred at a liquor store in the 36600 block of Newark Blvd. where a 35 year old male suspect punched his ex-boyfriend in the face after refusing to purchase beer for him. The suspect was not on scene when Officers arrived. An extensive area check for him was conducted, including his parents residence, with negative results.

2033 Hours: Officer Simon accepted a citizen in custody for shoplifting from JC Penneys. The 55 year old male transient also had a no bail arrest warrant and was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
