On Saturday, March 5, 2016, an elderly male adult who resided in the city of Lancaster was found deceased. As a result of the death, a Mortuary Attendant, Fernando Moguel of Los Angeles, responded to the location and took custody of the deceased. Within 48 hours, the vehicle belonging to the deceased, along with a firearm, was stolen from his residence. An investigation determined the vehicle had been transferred into the name of the Fernando Moguel.

Members of Lancaster Station’s Detective Bureau served a search warrant at the 6000 block of Coldwater Canyon in the city of Los Angeles. The stolen vehicle and firearm were recovered at the location. 

Fernando Moguel was arrested and booked at Lancaster Station for grand theft vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm with a bail amount of $35,000.

Further investigation is being conducted by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station.
