Join the Sheriff's Senior Volunteer Patrol - Santee and Lakeside
Looking for an exciting and fulfilling volunteer opportunity?
The Sheriff's Senior Volunteer Patrol (SVP) program is for citizens 50
years and older who want to serve their community by promoting safety and crime prevention programs.
Duties range from traffic control, patrolling neighborhoods, vacation checks, clerical work and checking on the welfare of elderly or disabled persons.
We are currently looking for Senior Volunteers to work at the Santee Sheriff's Station and Lakeside Sheriff's Substation.
To join, you must fulfill the following requirements:
*At least 50 years of age.
*Must be a U.S. citizen or legal alien who has applied for
citizenship.
*Must possess a valid California Driver License and car
insurance.
*Must have medical insurance.
*Good moral character. Conviction of a felony is disqualifying.
*Must pass a complete background check.
*Pass the two‐week Volunteer Patrol Academy course.
*Physically and emotionally be able to perform the duties of the
position.
*Volunteer a minimum of six hours a week a week in the City of Santee and the unincorporated communities of Lakeside and El Cajon.
