Methamphetamine Production Site Found in Woods near City

Vigo County—This afternoon at 1:16, Indiana State Police Troopers from the Putnamville District Meth Suppression Team, along with a Vigo County Sheriff’s Office K-9 handler, discovered a large methamphetamine production site in a wooded area near North Fruitridge Avenue and Beech Street in Terre Haute. The area was near a popular public walking area known as the Heritage Trail. Officers were led to the location after receiving a community tip from a family with children walking in the area.

Officers found and dismantled a methamphetamine production site that was capable of producing methamphetamine, as it possessed all required chemicals, apparatus, and anhydrous ammonia to produce methamphetamine. However, the lab was not producing meth at the time and no finished product was found.

No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.

Investigating officers were ISP Troopers Shilo Raulston and B.J Patterson with assistance from Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputy and K-9 Handler Larry Hopper and “Gnash”.
